Kiwanis Students of the Month

Each month during the school year the Kiwanis Club of East Lansing recognizes outstanding High School and Middle School students for outstanding achievements.

Dictionary Project

November, 2008                   

Members of the Kiwanis Club of East Lansing will distribute Dictionaries and Thesauruses to East Lansing elementary and middle school school students during the month of November. Students in the elementary schools will receive their own copy of a dictionary while students in the middle school will a copy of a thesaurus. This is the fifth consecutive year of this successful project.

Members are shown distributing copies of Thesaurus to McDonald Middle School 7th graders.

Schools that will be visited for the distribution is shown below.

Annual Salvation Army Bell Ringing

December 12, 2008

The Kiwanis Club of East Lansing will support the Salvation Army bell ringers at Meridian Mall.

 

Phone Cards for Soldiers

The Kiwanis Club of East Lansing donates phone cards to soldiers stationed in Iraq. Funds are raised through donations by club members and friends of the Kiwanis Club of East Lansing. The club also collects used cell phones as a part of our fund raising for Phone Cards for Soldiers. Send your check or money order, payable to Kiwanis Club of East Lansing, to P.O. Box 138, Okemos, MI 48805-0138. E-mail us with your questions to phonecards@kiwanisofel.org.

Interclub Opportunities

Visiting other clubs is an opportunity to share ideas about service and fund raising. In addition credit for missed meetings can be obtained to maintain perfect attendance records. An interclub is when four or more members of one club visit another club. Upcoming interclub opportunities for members are listed below. Signup at the next club meeting or e-mail the Interclub Chairperson.
